A Festival and two concerts for April and May

It's springtime, and our thoughts are turned to...Broadway, swing, and jazz!

The WCB begins its spring concert series with a performance at the Houston Area Community Music Festival which will be at The Centrum on Cypresswood Drive in Spring this year. Along with seven other local bands, we'll be performing on Saturday, April 26th. Our performance is slated for 6:30pm, but bands will play all day, beginning at 10am and concluding with the Festival Band at 8pm, conducted by the internationally known conductor Eugene Corporon.

Then the WCB moves on to their local performances, concertizing at Christ Church United Methodist, 6363 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands on Sunday, May 4th at 7pm, and then at Faith United Methodist, 2304 Rayford Road in Spring on Thursday, May 8th at 7:30pm. At these two performances we'll be playing selections from My Fair Lady, a medley of Duke Ellington tunes, portions of George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, part of the Broadway production of Chicago, and much more! Be sure to join us for an evening of toe-tapping crowd-pleasers.

The Band, as always, thanks Dr. Daniel Hannon of Christ Church and Pastor Harry Vein of Faith UMC for allowing us to perform at their wonderful facilities.

We are actively searching for other venues at which to perform; if your organization is interested in having us perform, then contact us as soon as possible!

We rehearse every Thursday evening, 7pm, at Christ Church United Methodist, 6363 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands. We have openings in all sections, and welcome those who are just picking their horn or sticks up after a hiatus, all the way up to semi-professional and professional players after a relaxed atmosphere and fulfilling program choices.
